Steve Lacroix - Propane Addiction
Steve and Elane Lacroix's Propane Addiction is a 90,000 cubic foot Aerostar AX-8. According to Steve, the name aptly describes his relationship to ballooning. This is Steve and Elane's second balloon. Steve offers flight instruction, charter flights and aerial advertising. Steve began crewing in 1989, earned his Private Pilot certificate in 2003, and his Commercial certificate in July, 2005. He got his start from his cousin, who is also a balloon pilot in Michigan. While on vacation in California, Steve met up with the cousin, crewed for him, and went on his first flight. Steve was hooked after that. Steve enjoys flying along the area's river valleys in the fall, when the wildlife is plentiful and colorful scenery abounds. Another plus is that the crops are often cut by that time, which opens up more available landing options. Steve says his most memorable flight was during his training when he got the opportunity to propose to his (then) girlfriend, Elane. She said "yes" and they've been married over four years now.
